This group of work explores and develops a relationship between code and material. The forms act as a kind of physical code to create a flat image, therefore playing a part both metaphorical and actual in doing so. The code/material relationship also references the making process, which begins with a parametric modelling process — using algorithmic code design to create virtual models — and then the code/material relationship is also evident in the fabrication process, which makes use of various combinations of laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC milling to realize the overall completed artworks.
